2024 Autumn

Autumn project from September 2024 till middle of November. Was hosting 4 young people from Spain, Poland and Belgium - Alejando, Daniel, Izabela and Tim!

This team was with laugther facing challenges that autumn in Mokovec offers such as harvesting the crops, construction the roof of the traditional Slovenian toplar structure, diving deep into permaculture and natural building knowledge. They connected through common appreciacion for snacks (mostly cookies) and adoration for Kela the dog. Changing the city lifestyles for full farm experience (including introduction to compost toilet) so far seems to be the best times of their lives!

Testimonials

Izabela Wroblewska "I  got to spend 2,5 month of my life in Mokovec farm and it feels like it  will influence a lot of the future months. Having the safe space,  compassionate environment and support from nature allowed me to go on  the journey inward to realise what really matters in life for me. The  practical side of volonteering: gardening, food prepping, helping with  natural construction and many more, let me  grow in my agency. What I'm taking with me is this metaphorical  backpack filled with skills and lessons that make my human experience  richer and make me eager to become a better person, for the community,  for the nature, for the benefit of all "

Alejandro Alejo Gómez: "This fall, I had an adventure in Slovenia, through the project Domačija Mokovec - nega zemlje in duha I experienced the life in a purer form I lived before, through being in community working together not only physically(Which it feels really healthy, not having a sedentary life hits different) but also working in our minds. Our pedagogical workshops and the daily learnings I had made me grow up to be a mentally healthier person with my surroundings, It is hard to express how this piece of my life that I am going to carry the rest of my life is going to be helping me forever.

I had a lovely time there, I felt there like being part of another family, and thank you Priya Barbara Balan for leading this amazing project."
