Loréne: 

From Monday to Friday I work with Prija and the other volunteer in the garden. I enjoyed plant, weed, dig, harvest different fruits and vegetables. I also learn how to cook these vegetables. The other part of the project was to build a new yurt with Peter. We finished building this yurt in July and I am currently living in it. I also helped Peter with other construction work, such as building a fence around the garden and a roof. We are also learning how to repair a tarmac road, cut grass, make compost, store wood for building or fire and do general farm work. In my free time I visit Slovenia and its beautiful landscape.

Valeria:

During my seven months at Domačija Mokovec I did many different things: From gardening to building a yurt, cleaning the forest and making compost. I loved doing the woodcarving work for the building of the yurt, storing wood and cleaning the forest. I also tried wood-crafting, and even though my first attempt of making a spoon has been a failure I will for sure continue it. I had the chance to help in other farms, where I learned things like plastering. During one training course I did various things, like cooking for a big group and also guiding the group on a hike. That has been challenging but satisfying. This journey has been for sure a discovery of different work and skills but I also lost my fear of dogs. And I mainly came here to try if a life more in contact with nature and towards auto-sufficiency could have been for me and I found the answer!«
