Nurture Earth and spirit
Solidarity Project
Resilience Through Nature
Nature can heal.
This is something we want to share with others and with the community — in a way that allows each person to find their own path to how nature can help and empower them.
That’s why Sobivanje ob gozdu and Domačija Mokovec have come together to create a series of 12 experiential and educational events held at both farms. The goal is to bring closer to local residents — and to anyone interested from across Slovenia — a lifestyle that is in harmony with nature and attuned to more sustainable, alternative, and environmentally friendly practices.
In addition to practical methods rooted in knowledge about nature, the project also explores ways of discovering one's inner nature/psyche and fostering collaboration and connection with others.
Workshops we’ve carried out include:
Open day at both venues
Fermentation and preservation workshop
Introduction to buckwheat as a grain
Forest garden and an artistic self-reflection workshop
Seed swap of homegrown seeds
Natural cosmetics making
Natural building – creating cob
Creating an herb garden at a local school
Connecting with oneself and others (exploring inner calling through the Hero’s Journey method)
Celebration event “Our Roots – Reflections of Our Ancestors Within Us”
The response to these workshops has been very positive.
Participants appreciate the knowledge and skills shared, which are well intertwined with practical examples and practices they can try and implement themselves.
We've also noticed that in these times of significant social change, meeting like-minded people is a highly valued and sought-after opportunity for mutual support, cooperation, and empowerment — helping individuals move toward greater personal sovereignty and autonomy.
It’s beautiful to see and witness that more and more people are awakening and reflecting on different ways of living and being, and are actively seeking and willing to make changes. Many have come to our events for inspiration on their own paths — to see that it’s possible.
With every such visit and participant, we’re reminded of our own journey — perhaps from 10 years ago — when we, driven only by a desire for a better world and change, started walking our own path, still unclear and uncertain at the time.
Now we know that every effort, all the hard work, and every courageous step is worth it — and that feeling and gratitude is something we want to pass on.
