Dance your dance, sustain our future

August 2018, Sunny Hill, Slovenia

In a picturesque village overlooking both Croatia and the Italian city of Trieste, 25 youths from Slovenia, Croatia, Italy, and Estonia gathered for an impactful Erasmus+ project at Sunny Hill. Established in 2013, Sunny Hill is a restored community center that fosters cultural exchange, sustainable living, and personal growth.

During the two-week program, participants engaged in activities centered around sustainable practices and art therapy, promoting mindfulness and creativity. Daily routines included communal responsibilities, group discussions, and workshops on topics like permaculture and the Dragon Dreaming methodology, encouraging collaboration and environmental stewardship.

Through creative games, adventure challenges, and cultural dinners, participants deepened connections with one another and their surroundings. They explored improvisation in dance and theater, enhancing their self-expression and communication skills.

The project culminated in a celebration that united the community, showcasing new friendships and shared experiences. Participants left Sunny Hill transformed, carrying with them the values of gratitude, love, and a commitment to making a positive change in the world. This initiative highlights the potential of stepping outside conventional norms to embrace a more meaningful, interconnected life.
